The Start of Editing
This was our first day editing. As we agreed previously, this was going to be a 2-day process. We wanted to make sure everything was done to perfection, or at least close to that. We started with just cleaning up the clips in general, so me and Sebastian got to work. Sebastian and I were the better editors in the group, so we did most of the editing, however Sebastian knowing more, he achieved more. Nico and Evan overall just gave us really good ideas on how we all wanted it to look. After cleaning up the clips, we decided to start adding fades, cuts, and so forth. We did this in order to transition the clips cleanly in between different scenes, or conversations. Still, we made sure to not add many transitions however. We made sure not to in order to make the film still logically make sense, and not have unnecessary pauses in between clips. Then since Sebastian was the best at fixing up sounds, he was in charge of that portion. We all recommended that he added suspenseful sounds before each kill in the film, as well as tense music in parts to build suspense. Sebastian honestly did an amazing job with editing and adding the sounds into the film. Once done, we kept on cutting some clips as we saw it was over 5 minutes. However, before getting to the dirty work of editing we had some disagreements. We did not unanimously agree on which scenes to use at parts. Multiple takes were shot from the same scenes and finding the perfect one was surprisingly difficult. In the end, we decided on the clips, however still open to changing some scenes if necessary. Fortunately we did film some backup scenes just in case, as it could possibly make the film seem more logical. Once we wrapped up all the sound editing, and condensing the clips to fit the time requirement, we decided to call it a wrap on the first day of editing. Stay tuned for more editing as we reach the latter stages of this project. Stay safe, stay tuned, and see you soon fellow bloggers!
