Overall Blog for Music Video: A Wrap Up

Image
Overall, our music video turned out to be an enjoyable experience. On filming day, it was one of the best days with my group. We got to go to many places together to film, explore new places, and have loads of fun. All this was done while still achieving our goal of filming properly. At the end of filming, our first thoughts were not the best on how the video would turn out. However, it turned out way better than expected. We knew we did better than expected, even before the editing process. We were proud of ourselves and eager to edit the couple of days after. As well we were proud of ourselves that we took the minimal amount of time possible to film since we knew we were busy afterward. Filming went smoothly and according to plan, without any major complications or setbacks. From having rides to different areas, the recording itself, and figuring out how we were going to do our scenes, it all went good without anything going wrong. Now, for our editing experience, yet again, all...

Editing Blog for Music Video: Second Day

Image
On our second day of editing our music video, we started by focusing on improving quality and finding the right filters for our video. Yet again, Jack came back to my house to help me edit. As well as Donavan and Tripp came over to help on this day. Once we knew the length of our video was good, the song's timing was good, and all clips were imported, we mainly focused on quality. I started by changing the light exposure of the videos. Since it was mostly bright outside, I lowered the exposure. I prefer to have lower-exposure videos since the quality is crisper. Then, I fixed the contrast throughout certain scenes in the video since some clips had more contrast. Once I finished this, I added some temperature to the video since it was mostly gray outside, the video itself had somewhat of a gray atmosphere. By adding temperature to the video, it boosted the quality by also making the video look better and more cinematic. Once these important parts were improved in the video, we move...

Editing Blog Music Video: First Day

Image
I started editing after the day we finished filming. Jack came over to my house to help me edit since I needed some assistance. We started off by merging the scenes all into one for the video. When we merged the clips together, the length of the video came out to be over our time limit. Our video was one minute and 30 seconds, 15 seconds over the limit. This called for some cutting of certain scenes. We thought this would become an issue since we would either have to delete a scene or cut down important parts. However, this was not the case and we did not have to cut out important scenes. We managed to get the video down to be under the limit. As well as managing to stay above the minimum time required. Once we finished this section of editing, we started to match the lyrics to the video. We started the actual music lyrics halfway through the song, so we had to find right where the music matched my lip-singing. Fortunately, this was also quick to achieve and so we moved along. The only...

Filming Blog Music Video: Out in Town

Image
Outside of filming at my house, we went to multiple places to film. We filmed our two other scenes on the rooftop of the mall and at the beach. At the mall, we filmed the other scene where I am seen lip-singing again to God's Plan, with Tripp next to me. We took about 5-10 shots trying to get the perfect scene. To film this scene, it took us about 20 minutes. By finishing the scene in 20 minutes, we were perfectly on schedule and did not waste any unnecessary time. After this, we headed to the beach to film the final scenes. When we first got to the beach, our main goal was to find 2 homeless people to give our money away. Fortunately, we found 2 homeless people to donate to. Before we filmed this scene, we went up to them and discussed what our plan was. We asked for consent to record them for our music video. Thankfully, we got their consent and began filming. Filming this scene was particularly quick, and it only took one shot to do. We got two separate clips of Tripp going up t...
