Editing Blog for Music Video: Second Day

On our second day of editing our music video, we started by focusing on improving quality and finding the right filters for our video. Yet again, Jack came back to my house to help me edit. As well as Donavan and Tripp came over to help on this day. Once we knew the length of our video was good, the song's timing was good, and all clips were imported, we mainly focused on quality. I started by changing the light exposure of the videos. Since it was mostly bright outside, I lowered the exposure. I prefer to have lower-exposure videos since the quality is crisper. Then, I fixed the contrast throughout certain scenes in the video since some clips had more contrast. Once I finished this, I added some temperature to the video since it was mostly gray outside, the video itself had somewhat of a gray atmosphere. By adding temperature to the video, it boosted the quality by also making the video look better and more cinematic. Once these important parts were improved in the video, we moved along. However, we faced an obstacle before we could continue. The video was filmed vertically, so we had to flip the video and turn it horizontally. Thankfully, by flipping it horizontally, the video looked way better than it did previously. To complete this part of editing, it took about an hour to finish. To our advantage, we could take as much time as we possibly could, so getting every detail down was important. Moving along with our second editing day, we focused on putting filters and transitions throughout each clip. I tried at least 5 different filters on our video, but unfortunately, none of them looked good compared to raw quality. On the bright side, we did eventually find certain filters that suited the setting of each of the clips, further enhancing our video. I put different transitions throughout each clip to smoothly go from one scene to the other and to cut out any sort of choppiness in the video. All in all, it took around 2 and a half hours to complete our second day of editing. Thus concluding our productive and fun day in editing for our music video.
