My Pitch Blog for Music Video

Image
Pitch 1: The song "Gods Plan" by Drake will be used for a music video that my group and I will create. This pitch and song choice will be fun to use especially since this is one of the most popular songs ever released. Many trends and ideas have been created ever since this song came out. However we will obviously use our imagination and be original, there are many ideas we can come up with due to the versatility of this song. At first, we were concerned we would not be able to use this song due to the lyrics being explicit. Although explicit songs are not allowed, we can use the clean version of the song. This helps us get over the first obstacle that this song gave us. Apart from that, there should be no other reason why we cannot use this song. Another positive that can be brought from it is that it would be great for the audience since nearly everybody knows this song.  This song proves to be a good firsthand choice to use for our music video.  Pitch 2: The song...

Group Blog for Music Video

Image
My group for this project is Tripp E, Donavan G, and Jack B. We will be working on making a music video that is a minute and 15 seconds long. The people I choose for this project will be crucial for the way it can possibly turn out. Due to this, these are the reasons why I have individually chosen these 3 people. First off, I chose to work with a group since we have the chance to connect ideas. If one person has an idea, and the other has something to add to it, the outcome of the finalized idea has the potential to be even better than the original. Now, the reasons why I picked the following people. I have known and worked with Tripp in the same class ever since the sixth grade. We have great chemistry when we work together, and in the times we have worked together, we have always surpassed expectations and done really well. I chose Donavan because he is a good friend of mine who I know is extremely creative and innovative, and knows how to bring great ideas to the group. Last bu...

Intro Blog for Music Video

Image
Hi, my name is Dylan Euceda, I am 15 years old, and I am a sophomore at Fort Lauderdale High School. My least favorite class at school is currently Algebra 2. I have always been bad at math, and the first few lessons are already puzzling me. My favorite class, however, is Media Studies, the fact that we can blog, make music videos, and short films with our friends seems intriguing and fun to work on. Once school is over, my life transitions to soccer and that becomes my focus. I have been playing soccer ever since I learned how to walk and plan to maybe even play professionally and make this my living. The dream I have always had since a kid was to become a professional soccer player so through that dream I have always had, I use it as motivation to get better and hopefully the dream little me once had. I currently play for PSG academy in Miami, Florida. I usually practice 4 times a week from 7 pm to 9 pm. Then games and tournaments follow up during the weekend. Since soccer requi...

Creative Critical Reflection

How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent   social groups or issues?   My product did follow most conventions regarding sports drinks commercials; however, it did challenge them in some ways. In my commercial, we followed basic conventions such as jump cuts, athletic movements , and dramati c, high suspense scenes which all correlated and summed up how a sports commercial should be. My commercial challenged these conventions by not showing any signs of sweat or exhaustion by the athlete, nor inspirational music. Although showing sweat, and including inspirational music are huge portions that make up a sports commercial, my commercial still found a way to make it a perfect representation of how other sports commercials are constructed. For the music used in the commercial, it was the instrumental of the song “Cinderella” by Metro Boomin and Future. This showcases a hype-beat which perfectly fits the action and movements used...

This is my commercial for Prime. This indicates the start of my journey with my first project completed. I hope you enjoy it, thank you.

Production Blog: Overall

Image
Overall, the commercial came out much better than expected. After both previous production blogs regarding editing and filming, some small tweaks and fixes were made. More scenes were dropped, and other scenes were added. I removed a slow-motion scene originally included in the nightmare scene. We all agreed that it was best if that scene was dropped. Also, it would make space for a better scene to be added to the commercial. Also, the closing scene was dropped. A new closing scene was added which improved the quality of the commercial, making it the perfect ending. After all the removal and additions of scenes, the commercial still ended up at 29 seconds. Thus, meeting the time requirement necessary. Regarding editing, there were also some fixes made. I found a better black-and-white filter for the nightmare scene which I used. This assisted in making the nightmare scene look better overall. As well, the commercial filming itself was flipped horizontally to look better. Some scen...

Editing Blog: Meeting Time Requirement & Improving Quality

Image
Once all the shots were filmed, it just came down to the editing. I merged all our best clips and put them all into one video. I had the editing app, therefore I was the one editing the clips, while my group mates gave me suggestions on what to do, improve, and cut. All the editing was done on my personal phone. When the clips were merged together, the length of the video was a whopping 1 minute and 16 seconds. The target time was a max of 30 seconds and a minimum of 27 seconds. To fulfill this requirement, I removed multiple clips that were unnecessary. As well as speeding up some clips without making them look weird. The editing of the commercial once finalized took about an hour. In total, I merged about 12 clips that we used throughout the filming. The first 3 clips did not need to be cut down since they were already short enough to keep in the commercial. However, they were sped up a bit to cut down time. The next few clips did need some shortening. For the second scene on th...
